Choose your watch
In Devices, open your exact model and choose Set as default device. New projects use that watch’s screen size and capabilities.
Start from a template
- Open Marketplace in Studio, or choose a design from the template marketplace.
- Open the template and review its compatibility with your watch.
- Choose Use template to create an editable project copy.
- Rename the project at the top of the editor.
- Select a layer to change its color, size, or position.
Your edits do not change the original template. If Studio reports a device mismatch, choose a compatible template or address the listed issues.
Start from blank
- Open Projects and choose New project.
- Rename the project at the top of the editor and check the device shown beside it.
- Choose Add element → Time & date and add digital time or analog hands.
- Add a date or one data field, such as battery or steps.
- Choose Preview to check the layout.
Keep the time easy to find and leave room around the screen’s curved edges. The editor guide explains layers, alignment, and display modes.
Make a version for another watch
Choose the device name at the top of the editor to Create device version. Select the new watch and review compatibility. Studio creates a separate version so you can adapt the layout to that display.
Review text sizes, positions, and supported elements in the new version. Build each version for its own exact device.
Organize projects and templates
Find saved designs in Projects. Use folders to organize related work. To reuse a design as a starting point, choose Save as template in the editor. Using a template creates a new project copy.
A template is an editable design. A build produces the file that runs on a watch.
Back up or move projects
Changes save locally as you work. Export a file before clearing browser data, using another browser, or moving to desktop.
- Open Settings → Storage & data.
- Under Export projects, choose Export.
- Select the projects to include and confirm the export.
- Keep the transfer file outside browser storage.
To restore or move projects, open Settings → Storage & data → Import in the destination Studio. Choose the transfer file, review which projects to add or replace, then confirm.
Transfer files contain the selected projects. Builds and app settings are excluded. Keep your desktop signing key backed up separately.
